Ashley DeLane is heading into her sixth season as a national dance adjudicator, traveling the country to work with dancers of all ages and levels. Her favorite part of the job is getting to play a small role in a dancer's growth, offering feedback that builds technique, artistry, and individuality, with healthy, sustainable movement behind it all.

 

Off the competition circuit, she teaches workshops and master classes that bring together her backgrounds in performance, Laban Movement Analysis, and kinesiology. She recently just taught a technique workshop at Dancensation Studios and provided musical theatre college audition coaching, including dance reel choreography for prescreens, audition preparation, repertoire and song selection and guidance through the application process.

 

Next up is a short residency at a New Jersey high school, where she'll teach a Movement for the Actor master class to the Musical Theatre majors. The class will explore personal movement preferences and physical self-awareness, examining how natural movement patterns inform their work onstage, how to lean into or move beyond those preferences, and how to make more specific, intentional physical choices in character creation and storytelling.

 

She's also enjoying a new chapter in her theatrical career, with a renewed focus on dancing and teaching wherever and whenever possible. She's looking forward to collaborating with artists and organizations who share her passion for storytelling, and seeing how many different ways she can stretch herself in this crazy NYC scene.

 

And because one lane has never been enough, Ashley DeLane is also exploring opportunities in television and film, along with lifestyle and athletic modeling. She's actively pursuing representation to help bring this next chapter into focus.
